Vet and Pet Products website complies with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

Vet and Pet Products will collect certain personal information from you such as your name, contact details, your credit card details (if provided). This information will be required for us to provide services to you. Vet and Pet Products may also collect other personal information that you provide us on company surveys or marketing competitions. This information is then utilized to improve our services and products to you as the customer. These surveys are strictly confidential. On your request we will remove your name from such survey lists. Vet and Pet Products take reasonable steps so as to ensure your personal information is kept confidential, secure, and restricted from unauthorized access or use.

Access to Personal Information
In compliance with the Privacy Act, you as the customer can access personal information about you held by us, and advise us if you believe it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Personal information that is held by Vet and Pet Products can be requested by writing to the Privacy Officer, Vet and Pet Products- vetandpetproducts@bigpond.com. An administration fee of $25.00 will be charged.

Complaint
If you consider that your privacy has been breached, please contact our Privacy Officer at the above address. If the issue has not been considered to have been resolved, then you may refer the issue to the Privacy Commissioners Office. So as to improve our performance, services and products, Vet and Pet Products will collect non-personally identifiable aggregate information. This may include examples such as previously visited domain names, web pages and browser software being used. This information is collected but in such a way so it cannot be linked back to any individual. Vet and Pet Products collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information from credit reporting agencies, information in regards to credit card worthiness, disclosure to credit reporting agencies and authorized agencies in line for debt collection policies and procedures. If you are in default then our collection agent will be notified and your personal information will be exchanged. Your personal information will be disclosed with our authorized agencies such as our solicitors, when needed for legal proceedings, or police when investigating fraudulent transactions.

Market Listings
For marketing purposes, such as putting your name and contact details on marketing lists for direct marketing, offering you our products, services and third party business partners, via email, post or telephone. Vet and Pet Products controls customer information in any initial third party offers. Third party partners will issue customer information and offers may take place from time to time and it is your choice should you choose to disclose personal information to a third party business after our initial offer. It is voluntary the information that you provide to a third party and Vet and Pet Products enter into third party relationships with care. It is policy for Vet and Pet Products to require our third party business partners to clearly state their intention with personal details collected from you and make this available to you, their privacy policy. Your name will be removed from such market listings if you ask us to do so.

Please note that if your preference is to opt out of our marketing lists, then your name will be removed from such listings in the future. If you do wish to opt out, then you will lose the benefits of receiving direct marketing information about our latest products, services, promotions and special deals with our third party business partners.

Company Service Providers
Personal information will be transferred for the primary purposes of carrying out our business services and transactions confidentially to our service providers such as marketing campaigns and partners in selling our products and services, external mail outsourcing agents, bank, merchant or financial agencies to process your account payments. Vet and Pet Products endeavour to provide all of these services, without involving third parties with any of your personal information. If that is not achievable, then we require any third party is provided with only the minimum information necessary and it is used in strict confidentiality.

Sale of Business
If at any stage in the future Vet and Pet Products is sold or there is a part sale of the business, we will need to disclose your personal information to the buyer so the new owner can continue to provide services to you.

Quality of Information Collected
It is the customers responsibility to ensure that their personal information is correct and up to date, by notifying us of any changes to the details we hold. Vet and Pet Products will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. We do require you to verify any personal details for any account enquiry, and also check your details in our company communications e.g. welcome letters and account notices.

Vet and Pet Products will keep confidential the business record, personal details, and material relating to each user, and will respect the privacy of users personal communications. We will take reasonable steps to ensure the confidentiality of business records, personal details and information. Vet and Pet Products will not sell or exchange business records, personal details or user information without the users consent.

If a user is known or is suspected under the age of 18 years, Vet and Pet Products, will not collect personal, family, or residency information from this user without the consent of the user’s parents or guardian.

When you place an order with Vet and Pet Products, your personal information is passed through our secure server. This server has encryption technology so as to ensure your personal information is protected and cannot be read by third parties over the internet, this also applies for information sent to you (e.g. order confirmation). All stored customer information is protected from unauthorized access via the use of system firewalls and physical security precautions.
